Gerontology and Geriatrics Research

Gerontology research professionals at the Institute for Aging Research at Hebrew SeniorLife conduct rigorous medical and social studies aimed at developing strategies that maximize strength, vigor and physical well-being, as well as preserve cognitive and functional independence for adults as they age.

Their focus on geriatrics research has led to substantial new findings on chronic disabilities, has helped to revolutionize the delivery of elder care in institutional settings and in the community.  The gerontology research performed at the Institute for Aging Research and has provided a cadre of physicians with specialized training in the unique problems that many adults face as they grow older.
