About Hebrew SeniorLife

Message from the CEO
Welcome to an extraordinary organization. What began as a small "home" in Dorchester serving a handful of elderly has become an internationally recognized leader in the field of senior care. Throughout our 100+-year history, Hebrew SeniorLife has been committed to maximizing the physical and mental potential and quality of life of seniors.

Our new name, Hebrew SeniorLife, was adopted in 2004 and replaced the name Hebrew Rehabilitation Center for Aged. We believe that our new name is a better reflection of who we are ... and what we do.  But even though the name is different, there is still the same unwavering commitment, the same high level of care, and the same drive to advance the field of geriatrics that have characterized us for more than 100 years. Our new name is an accurate reflection of our integrated, eight-site system of housing, health care, research and teaching that serves thousands of seniors in the Greater Boston area.

Today, our organization serves a much broader range of seniors with a much broader range of services and programs. We have created a comprehensive continuum of care -- a system of housing, long-term care, assisted living, adult day health, and post-acute care ... a system that includes a commitment to research and teaching ... a system that provides options and choices to seniors ... a system that serves every aspect of a senior's life ... a system that will soon include an innovative multigenerational campus in Dedham ... a system that is a blueprint for senior care in the 21st century.

None of our success would be possible without remarkable leadership, an extraordinary staff, and a community that believes in the mission of our organization. You'll learn a great deal about our organization as you click through our Web site. You'll certainly learn that we're much more than you ever realized!

Again, I welcome you to Hebrew SeniorLife. We, as an organization, are changing the way people think about aging.

Sincerely yours,

Len Fishman
CEO
